OVERVIEW
Understand Your Brain Function with Precision
If you're experiencing seizures, unexplained episodes, or neurological symptoms, a Routine EEG (Electroencephalogram) helps evaluate your brain’s electrical activity. We provide reliable, in-office EEG testing to support accurate diagnosis and guide the right treatment.

What is a Routine EEG?
A Routine EEG is a non-invasive test that records the electrical activity of your brain using small electrodes placed on your scalp. It helps detect abnormal brain wave patterns that may indicate neurological conditions.
Symptoms (When you may need Routine EEG)
A routine EEG is recommended when symptoms suggest abnormal brain activity. This may include episodes that are difficult to explain through physical examination alone.
Common reasons include:
Symptoms (When you may need Routine EEG)
Episodes of loss of consciousness
Unexplained confusion or altered awareness
Memory lapses or unusual behavioral changes
Conditions diagnosed
Epilepsy and seizure disorders
Brain dysfunction (encephalopathy)
Syncope vs seizure differentiation
Sleep-related neurological disorders
Effects of brain injury or inflammation

How to prepare for the test
Wash your head the night before or the day of the test. Do not put any gel or hair product on your hair. If you have any breeds or hair extensions, it is preferred that you remove them for better electrode placement and quality of test

How the test works
During the test, electrodes are placed on the scalp to record electrical signals from the brain. You may be asked to perform simple tasks such as deep breathing or looking at flashing lights, which can help reveal abnormalities.
The procedure typically takes 20 to 40 minutes.

What to expect
Preparation is simple. Patients are usually asked to come with clean, dry hair and avoid using hair products.
During the test, you will be seated or lying down comfortably while brain activity is recorded. The test is painless, and normal activities can be resumed immediately afterward.

Why is this test important?
- Helps diagnose seizure disorders accurately
- Distinguishes between neurological and non-neurological events
- Guides treatment decisions and medication management
- Provides critical insight into brain function
